In the past, stucco repair has been a messy, time-consuming chore. But now Spraytex’ Elastomeric Stucco Patch puts success and ease in the palm of your hand.
1. First, repair the area to be patched as usual. To improve
the blending of the Stucco Patch spray, smooth and scrape the edges where
patch meets your existing stucco.
2. If the patched area is dry, dampen the surface with water.
If the patched area has been painted, leave it dry.
3. Cover and mask windows, doors, vents, cement, and any
other areas you want to protect from overspray.
4. It’s always a good idea to protect your eyes with
safety glasses. Always point nozzle away from face when attaching nozzle,
shaking can, and spraying.
5. Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute. Make
sure to hold the can upright approximately 2-3 feet from patch while you’re
spraying. Adjust nozzle to angle the spray in the desired direction.
6. Holding can upright at all times, pull down on nozzle
to start spraying. Spray in short bursts, or hold down the nozzle to spray
continuously while moving quickly over the area. Spraying in short bursts
usually provides more coverage per can.
7. For swirl finishes, as stucco starts to dry and harden
(this takes around 1-3 minutes on cement surfaces and 1-10 minutes on painted
surfaces), use a damp sponge to swirl and feather the texture you desire.
If stucco is too dry to swirl, add a bit more water to your sponge.
8. Clean up any overspray before it dries. Clean all tools
immediately with warm, soapy water. Use a steel brush to remove any dried
material.
9. Clean nozzle with soap and warm water. Do not turn can
upside down and spray to clean.
10. SPRAYTEX Elastomeric Stucco Texture should be painted
after 6 - 24 hours, depending on humidity, temperature, and surface.
